If you’re a working mom, you need a work capsule wardrobe that goes from the office to the soccer field. These pieces are the perfect place to start!
Being a working mom is hard work. Getting dressed for work doesn’t have to be.
I’ve got you covered! If I were building a work capsule wardrobe as a mom over 30, I’d start here.

These pants don’t wrinkle and are beyond comfortable! Nothing looks less professional than wrinkled clothes, and let’s be real, if you’re a working mom, ironing is the very last thing you have time for. It doesn’t hurt that they can also look cool and effortless and easily be worn after work, too.

No work capsule wardrobe is complete without a washable cashmere cardigan that is not itchy! A cashmere cardigan is great for wearing with skirts and dresses too.

Get a lightweight denim top – it will go with everything in your closet and can be styled open or buttoned up for two totally different looks.

These Amazon trousers are also so great! They are some of the only Amazon trousers I have ever tried and actually liked.
Your work capsule wardrobe also needs a bag that is both functional and beautiful. The rectangular shape of this tote bag keeps your papers from bending. This bag is made from real Italian leather for a crazy good price!

These ballet flats are equal parts comfortable and practical because they will go with literally everything in your closet.

When I taught, this coatigan was the most-worn item in my closet, especially in colder weather. It looks so nice with pants and is also a great length for wearing with dresses or skirts. Not to mention it feels like J.Crew but is from Amazon!
Black denim jeans are my favorite for work, because they look nice, but again, you can wear them well beyond the office! These are so good and only $38!

The Anthropologie Somerset dress is my favorite style for every body type. I will die on the hill that a good, comfortable, flattering dress is the easiest outfit. Instantly, you look put together, and all you had to do was put on one piece of clothing! The exact style I’m wearing above isn’t available anymore, but the other patterns are gorgeous, too!

This maxi skirt is another closet staple that looks cute all year long. I have even more maxi skirt options and outfit ideas here if you love maxi skirts as much as I do!

I’ve worn this drop-waist maxi dress at least once a week since I bought it. Again, a casual but elevated and super comfortable dress is the easiest work outfit!

I would 100/10 recommend these viral work pants from Ruti. They are expensive, but you will want to wear them every day. They’re easy to elevate and easy to dress down and wear to your kids’ games after work. I just got the brown color and can’t wait to wear them all through the fall!

white blouse, cropped wide-leg jeans
A white blouse that you can wear with all different types of bottoms is essential! I love the lace trim on this one.
I would also highly recommend getting a good pair of cropped wide-leg jeans that you can wear on more casual days but still look nice. I love this style because you can wear it in the summer with flats and sandals, but it also looks cute in the winter with boots.

Make sure you have an easy striped top. They look great worn alone, but they’re also great for layering with jackets and vests!
And do not sleep on a good denim jacket! The right one will elevate any and every outfit and make your outfits look more intentional. Plus, it’s an easy layer to put on and take off if you are in a cold building but it’s hot outside.
