I already told you in my last post that I’m all in on fall fashion this year, but if I’m being honest, fall shoes might be where my heart really lives. There’s something about this time of year that makes me want to rework my whole shoe rotation, and lately there are a handful of styles I keep reaching for over and over.
These aren’t the trendy-for-a-minute kind of picks either. I chose these because they’re practical, comfortable, and actually work for a mom’s real life while still feeling on-trend. So consider this your guide to the five fall shoes I’m wearing this season and honestly cannot stop talking about.
LOW-PROFILE SNEAKERS
The low-profile sneaker has been around for a while, and I love this trend so much. Low-profile sneakers go cute with jeans, obviously, but they also go cute with skirts and shorts. They are just so versatile! There are lots of different color combos out there right now – so many fun textures and designs and colors that you can get.
Personally I love a neutral, low-profile sneaker that I know I can wear with a lot of different outfits. This one is my top pick. It is a little pricey, but it slips on, it wipes up easily, and it’s a shoe I will personally be wearing for years to come.
POINTED TOE BOOTS
The pointed toe boot is classic, effortless, cool but also very chic. I am loving the high over-the-calf style right now! Mine is a suede cognac, but a tinge darker than cognac brown, and it’s going to go with everything.
I love the uniqueness of the point on this one. It’s not just what you normally see, and I feel the same way about the heel. This is a 10 out of 10 for me, and it is going to look so beautiful with your fall dresses, too.
MARY JANE BALLET FLATS
The Mary Jane ballet flat is another style we have seen year after year, but this year we’re seeing a lot of animal print, and I am loving it. I mentioned in my last blog post that I love the snakeskin vibe and trend that is happening right now, and this particular snakeskin is different from a lot of others you see. It’s almost like a muted brown, and I think it’s so beautiful!
I think it’s going to be very versatile. I love the triangle on the top of the foot; it’s going to be elongating for your legs and your feet. It’s a very practical shoe that is also going to be very comfortable.
CLOGS
Now I know we’re not wearing clogs necessarily for cuteness or chicness. We are wearing clogs because they are practical, and there are some cute options out there. This clog on Amazon is a little cuter and has a little more spunk to it. It’s a brand from Amazon that I love and trust, and I’m excited to try this one out for fall to have something a little different.
My number one clog is the Rothy’s. I got my first pair last year, and they really are worth the hype! They are so comfortable, and I slide mine on at least once a day. I actually love them so much that I got them from my mother-in-law for Christmas, too. Great for all ages, and just an easy throw-and-go.
LOAFERS
I’m going to be very upfront with you: I actually think loafers are so ugly. I think they look like old man shoes – I’ve said that before. So you’re not going to find me in a lot of the traditional loafers that people wear. That said, I do think they are a very on-trend style right now, and one that I wanted to find a way to fit into my wardrobe that still feels feminine and something I can wear day to day.
So I went with a slide loafer instead. I love a good slide because it’s just so easy and effortless. I really like how slim the toe is on this one. I like the color, and it’s a brand that’s very comfortable. So we’re going to be trying these loafers, and I actually think they look very cute with quite a few different outfits I’ve tried. I’m excited to incorporate them and have a better attitude about the whole trend. If you want to try the loafer trend too, I would highly recommend these!
