These 5 fall fashion trends are perfect for moms. Each one is great for looking cool and effortless at the same time!
Okay moms, let’s talk fall fashion trends 2026, because I am SO excited for this season. I’ve rounded up the five trends I am genuinely obsessed with right now, and I picked them with us in mind specifically: moms over 30 who want to look chic and put together without trying too hard!
These are all pieces you can actually wear in real life, not just runway ideas that never make it into your closet. Let’s get into it.

I am obsessed with the rugby trend in every way, shape, and form. If you’re a ’90s baby, you are going to especially love this one. I love all things rugby, from rugby sweaters to rugby polos, especially when they throw a stripe in there. It’s game over. So good.
The best part about this trend is how versatile it is. You can make it look so chic and effortless, or you can dress it up. I went through and found my favorite rugby tops, and I know you’re going to love all of them.

Burgundy and purple jewel tones aren’t a new trend, but they’re very chic and great for moms because they’re such classy colors. It kind of gives Princess Diana vibes, honestly. You can do it in anything: a sweater, pants, shoes, a bag.
I especially love doing trends through accessories because it’s a very safe and easy way to get the trend in without feeling like you’re over the top.

I personally love snakeskin. I feel like it’s a very muted animal print compared to something like zebra or cheetah, which can be pretty loud (not that I always hate that). But snakeskin to me is subtle. It’s chic. And yes, I’ve said chic like 8,000 times in this post already.
I’ll mostly be wearing snakeskin in shoes, bags, and belts, so I think for myself I’ll stick more to the accessory side of it. But there are a few cute snakeskin pants and jackets out there too. I linked some of my favorites below.

anthropologie pointed toe boot
This is, again, not a new trend, but it’s a very big one going into fall 2026, and I personally love it. I love anything that makes me look polished, and a polished pointed toe boot is perfection. Moms will love this one.
It goes great with the wide leg trend, but you can also wear it with a straight leg, so it’s super versatile. And obviously it’s great with dresses if you get that nice high calf. I found some fantastic options, and I’d say especially go for a pointed toe in a cognac color because it will go with practically everything in your closet.

anthropologie utility barrel pants
This one kind of brings together all the trends into the overall vibe we’re going for as moms over the age of 30. I think the key here is to size up. That’s the secret to looking effortless and cool, because sometimes even doing true to size, unless it’s an intentionally oversized piece, just brings a different look. Not a bad one, but that effortless look is a little more baggy, a little more loose and edgy. So sizing up in jeans, sizing up in tees, those are the moves.
The cowl and funnel neck are huge right now for fall. The wide leg track pant and the barrel track pant are also very effortless right now. A little rule of thumb for looking effortless but put together: loose bottoms, a tighter fitted top, and a loose jacket or blazer over it. I linked a few things below that can help you get this vibe in less than five minutes.

I love fall fashion because it’s a time we can really let our personality shine. We can layer, we can try new things, and it’s not overly hot. It’s just a great time to be getting dressed. I want to know, which trend are you most excited to try, and which ones are you leaving at the door? That’s the great thing about being a mom over 30: we get to pick what trends we like and don’t like, and we don’t even have to follow the ones that aren’t for us.
